Among outdoors adventurers Coleman is known more for their camping and other outdoor gear. The company, however, also produces a line of products for the home, among them, garage storage equipment.
Coleman’s garage storage solution is actually a modular system that can be purchased piece by piece depending on your storage needs and, of course, budget. A good piece of this module to start building the complete set is the two-door base cabinet.
This cabinet has a width of 79 cm and a height of 85.4 cm, standing on moisture resistant feet that can be adjusted to even out jagged floors. It is approximately 50 cm in depth.
It is made of wood composite and is finished in silver with the doors shaded a little darker than the sides. This finish is a 100 % resin-based laminate from Sauder Woodworking. Known as the WorkShield™, it resists stains even from ethyl alcohol, distilled water, ammonia, vegetable oil, citric acid, coffee, tea, mustard or ketchup.
The top is covered with a rubber work surface thus protecting the wood from abrasions. Two handle grips are installed on each of the two doors. These are also made of rubber providing a good grip even when your hands are wet or oily.
With the two-tone silver finish, the black rubber top and handle grips, the Coleman Two-Door Base Cabinet looks attractive, and is certainly a great addition to any garage. It can also hold a good number of your tools and equipment in its two shelves, one of which is adjustable or removable. Each of them has a weight capacity of about 25 kgs.
