The Garage Storage Pro Five-Shelf Storage Unit – Industrial Duty is a storage solution with an open shelf design. It is constructed of heavy-gauge steel and treated particle boards.
The steel is coated with a galvanized finish to make it resistant to rust and corrosion. On top of this, an enamel finish is also baked on the steel for even more rust-protection. These coatings turn the shelf’s frame into a sturdy and glossy set of posts and beams.
Treated particle boards, made of wood chips and bonded with a synthetic resin, are used for the shelves. Combined, the shelves can carry a load of up to 2,400 pounds when evenly distributed among themselves.
The storage unit can be assembled vertically, with the five shelves stacked over each other, or horizontally. In the latter arrangement, you can have three shelves over each other, while the remaining two are joined together. This arrangement is fine if you have a little bit more space in your garage, or if you are not comfortable reaching up to the full height of the shelves for your stored items. After all, the shelves are six feet tall when stacked vertically. Lifting heavy objects to the upper shelves could be difficult. Also, since the length is only three feet with a depth of 1.33 feet, its footprint is only approximately four square feet. This isn’t really going to eat up a lot of space in your garage.
