The body is made of 1 mm thick steel while the drawers have a slightly less thickness at 0.8 mm. A 3.2 mil powder coating of polyester epoxy provides a protective film to all the metal components. This type of coat is harder than conventional solvent-based paint and thus offers better protection.
The drawers run smoothly on ball-bearing glides. Even if a drawer is loaded up to the maximum capacity of the ball-bearings of 100 lbs. for each drawer, it can still be pulled out without difficulty. This pulling is done through aluminum handles that run the full-length of the drawers.
Mats made of ethylene-vinyl acetate or EVA line the drawers to protect stored equipment as well as the drawer itself. Security of the drawers is provided by an HMC tubular lock with its own key code.
