Arguably, next to a man’s family the closest things to him are his dog and his tools. That is why he goes to great lengths to protect them. While it may be a bit more difficult, and expensive, to keep the dog healthy, all he needs to keep his tools safe is a tool chest like the Lyon 1400 Pro Series Top Chest.
Referred to as a Pro Series, it means that the chest is good enough for professionals. And rightly so as it is a heavy-duty tool chest fabricated out of heavy gauge steel. Its double-wall construction makes it rigid and firm even when loaded with your tools.
The steel surface is protected with a powder coat that is electrostatically applied and heat-treated. This treatment transforms the powder into a kind of second skin for the steel, thus effectively blocking rust or corrosion and making it easy to clean.
The Lyon 1400 Pro Series Top Chest is actually part of module which can be stacked on Lyon Pro Series rolling cabinets. If you do not have that many tools, however, you can always use it on its own.
The chest has a clamshell design with the top lid opening to a till having a width of 20.75″, depth of 8.25″, and height of 3.125″. You can store measuring devices and rulers in the till or perhaps sketches and plans of your projects.
Immediately below the till are three drawers arranged alongside each other. These have dimensions of 7″ W x 10.5″ D x 2″ H. Small tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers can be accommodated in these drawers.
There are three more drawers below, all of which span the entire width of the chest. The upper two have the same measurements at 23″ W x 10.25″ D x 2″ H. The bottom drawer has the same width and depth but is 3.125″ high. These three are intended for bulkier and bigger tools. Indeed, the bottom drawer can even carry compact power tools.
A coded lock keeps your tools safe and secure, while large handles make carrying the chest a breeze. Overall dimensions are 26″ W x 12″ D x 14.5″ H.
